William Walter Boyd (January 27, 1906 – November 21, 1997) was an American professional poker player born in McNeil, Arkansas. He holds four World Series of Poker bracelets, all won in five-card stud events in four consecutive years: the 1971 $1,000 Limit Five Card Stud event, the 1972 $10,000 Five Card Stud event, the 1973 $10,000 Five Card Stud event (the only entrant), and the 1974 $5,000 Five Card Stud event for $40,000—his largest career cash. He accumulated $80,000 in total live tournament earnings per The Hendon Mob, a figure that reflects primarily tracked modern events. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1981. Outside poker, Boyd managed the card room at the Golden Nugget from its 1946 opening until 1988, and is credited with helping popularize Omaha hold'em.
