Christopher Bryan Moneymaker is an American professional poker player born on November 21, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, who grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He holds one World Series of Poker bracelet, won at the 2003 WSOP Main Event for a $2,500,000 first-place prize, having entered through an $86 online satellite on PokerStars — the first online qualifier to win that event. At the time of his win, he was employed as an accountant. He has accumulated $8,627,311 in total live tournament earnings per The Hendon Mob. His 2003 victory is widely credited with triggering a surge in global poker participation.
