Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson (August 10, 1933 – May 14, 2023) was an American professional poker player from Longworth, Texas, who competed professionally for over six decades. He accumulated $6,176,737 in total live tournament earnings per The Hendon Mob, a figure that reflects only the modern era of tournament tracking and does not capture his full career earnings. Brunson won 10 World Series of Poker bracelets, including the WSOP Main Event in both 1976 and 1977, making him one of only four players in history to win the Main Event more than once. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1988. He is the author of Super/System (1978), widely regarded as one of the most influential poker strategy books ever written.
