Before focusing on poker, he was a professional e-sports competitor known as "shaGuar," winning the 2007 Championship Gaming Series in Counter-Strike for $50,000. He finished 7th in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event for $1,250,000. His total live tournament earnings are approximately $4.6 million.
