Hamid Dastmalchi

Hamid Reza Dastmalchi was born in 1952 in Mashhad, Iran. He won the 1992 WSOP Main Event for $1,000,000, becoming the second Iranian-born player to win the world championship. He also made the WSOP Main Event final table in 1985, finishing 5th for $70,000, and in 1995, finishing 4th for $173,000. He held three WSOP bracelets over his career. He largely withdrew from competitive tournament poker after 1999.
