Vanessa Selbst is an American professional poker player born on July 9, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York. She holds three World Series of Poker bracelets — won in 2008 ($1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha), 2012 ($2,500 10-Game Mix), and 2014 ($25,000 No-Limit Hold'em Mixed Max for $871,148) — all in open-field events. She became the only woman ever to reach the number one ranking on the Global Poker Index. She has accumulated $11,891,000 in total live tournament earnings per The Hendon Mob, making her the highest-earning woman in poker history. She holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and retired from professional poker in 2018 to join investment management firm Bridgewater Associates.
