The Roughrider Poker Tour stop at Jackpot Junction moved deeper into Main Event week on Friday, with Flight 1B drawing a strong weekday crowd and setting the stage for an even bigger weekend turnout. From early fireworks to late-night bagging, the room stayed busy from the first shuffle through registration closing.

In the RPT Main Event $640 Flight 1B, registration closed at 95 entries, generating a $51,300 prize pool. When chips went into bags, Derek "The Kid" McMaster ended the night atop the counts, with PokerReporting’s own Jordan Handrich close behind. Earlier in the day, a $160 satellite ran alongside the Main Event action with 39 players battling for seven seats.

The day’s highlights included John Pierce surging past 100,000 after a wild stretch that featured multiple sets and even flopped quads, while Ashish Gandhi scored an elimination and climbed over 80,000. Paul Turner delivered one of the cooler moments of the flight by turning over flopped quad eights against Paul Jain’s rivered full house, and Mark Fink found a river five to crack pocket tens and double through Handrich.

The day ended with fireworks as Handrich and McMasters chipped up and helped to bust the bubble while increasing their stacks.

Up next, Flight 1C tomorrow at noon, and then day two and the Second Chance Event are both on Sunday.
