Loki Abboud, hailing from Rochester, MN, has been involved in poker since 1988, starting with home games during his college days at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. Known among friends as "Loki," a nickname from his high school days as a class clown, Abboud made a significant mark in the poker scene with almost $800,000 in lifetime tournament winnings. His most cherished achievement is winning the High Roller event at the Fall Poker Classic at Canterbury Park, his home casino, in October of last year.
Outside of poker, Loki has a rich background in soccer. A former professional soccer player, he transitioned into coaching, founding the MN Thunder Academy youth soccer club in 2007. He currently coaches his daughters and runs a youth sports development company established in 2009. This venture allows him the flexibility to engage in tournament poker, a pursuit he balances with his passion for golf. Despite his poker commitments, Loki plans to reduce his tournament travel to focus on coaching his 8-year-old in competitive soccer over the next few years.
