Derek McMaster made it through reg-close and has been one of the more boisterous players in the room this evening. He recently knocked out a player, then disappeared from the room, only to return and get lost on the way to his seat/table. Here is a recap of the most recent events:
Note From Fox: Derek is the nicest guy ever. And tonight, he is the drunkest guy to ever have the chip lead this late in a tournament. I literally can not believe there is any alcohol left in this casino.
Hand 1:
The player under the gun raised to 15,000 and action folded around to Derek who called in the big blind. The flop came . The big blind checked, Derek bet 10,000, the big blind raised to 40,000, and Derek called.
The turn was the . The player under the gun moved all in for 105,000, Derek peeked back at his cards, shrugged and announced a call.
Derek turned over for a straight, and the big blind turned over for a flush draw.
"Give me a heart," the player said. But it was the on the river that sealed his fate and sent him to the rail, while Derek chipped up to half a million, the chip lead or close to it.
He then went on to play a few additional small hands, winning all of them.
***Derek then leaves the room***
***10 minutes later Derek walks back into the poker room but is unsure where his table is located. He is then escorted to the table.***
Note From Fox: Derek was not only unsure where his table was, he had forgotten that he had chips. He was, in fact, the chip leader. He was pleasantly surprised to learn this fact, as any of us would be.
Hand 2:
The first hand back at the table the player under the gun raised to 17,000. Derek was next to act and made it 50,000. It folded back to the original raiser who moved all in for 150,000. Derek called.
Original Raiser:
Derek:
The board ran out AK472 to award Derek another sizeable pot, and send his opponent to the rail.
McMaster is now sitting with around 850,000 in chips, and is the dominant chip leader of Flight 1B with 18 players remaining. 15 players will move on to day two and will be in the money.
Note From Fox: Derek has assured me that he can stack his own chips (he can not) and also told me that he plans to win this tournament tonight so he can drink tomorrow. This is a multi-flight tournament and no one can win it tonight...
