Phu "Bad Boy" Vo hails from Katy, Texas, and has been making waves in the poker world since 2022. Vo's introduction to the game began with home games, but he quickly transitioned to tournament play, where his aggressive style has earned him significant success. His first major result came in 2022 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, where he placed 5th out of 6,134 entries in a $400 buy-in event, earning $136,000.

Since then, Vo has continued to build on his success with two more six-figure cashes in Houston. In April 2025, he secured another 5th place finish, taking home $100,000 in an event with a $2 million guarantee. He followed this up in May 2026 with a 2nd place finish, pocketing $160,000. Outside of poker, Vo is a business owner, and his table presence has earned him the nickname "Bad Boy," a moniker that started from his habit of warning opponents not to bluff him.

The Bounty Round Up event here at Texas Card House is a new format for us, and players seem to love it. Each player has a bounty chip and when you bust a player, you get their bounty chip. When the tournament reaches the final table, the player or players who have the most bounty chips wins 10% of the prize pool.

This makes for some interesting strategy choices as the final table approaches. If you have a significant lead in bounty chips approaching the final table, folding aces preflop is a snap if the stack is big enough to hurt or bust you. And if you have the player with the most bounty chips covered, and you have the second most bounty chips, it might be correct to go all-in every time they play a pot. This unique payout structure would have ICM calculators smoking and shorting out from all the permutations!

Event #16 - $140 Super Sunday Optional Add-on — Wrap Up

The $25K Super Sunday at TCH Houston delivered on its promise and then some, clearing the guarantee during the final break and closing at 137 total entries to create a $26,400 prize pool. With 127 players taking the optional add on, stacks stayed deep for much of the day and the average hovered around 90 big blinds when late registration ended, setting the stage for a long, technical grind to the finish.

As the field narrowed, a mix of local regulars and traveling talent pushed into the money, with notable cashes including Mesut Dundar in ninth for $690 and T L Parasuram, Elmo Mitra, and Matthew Marvin all earning $580. The final table featured a balanced lineup with Manoop Dawar, Phu Vo, and Charles Sims all making runs, but the late stages belonged to Joseph Cappuccio, who navigated the pressure spots and kept his stack trending upward as pay jumps increased.

Cappuccio ultimately closed it out in a heads up battle against Jared Talarico, denying Talarico the trophy and locking up the top payout. Cappuccio earned $6,770 for the win and the Atlas trophy, while Talarico collected $4,500 for second. Daniel Wu rounded out the podium in third for $3,000, capping a one day event that combined deep stack play early with a sharp, high leverage finish late.

Ethan Doan, hailing from Houston, Texas, has been a poker player for five years, but has only been serious about tournament play for a year and a half. He began his poker journey in 2021, playing in home games with friends at modest stakes. Known to his poker circle as "E," Ethan made a significant impact early in his tournament career by securing second place at the Trailblazer Main Event at TCH Austin, earning over a hundred thousand dollars. This achievement was pivotal in his decision to pursue poker professionally. Ethan is now focused on achieving his next goal: winning a WSOP bracelet.
