David Chiu
David Chiu was born on August 23, 1960, in Nanning, China, and immigrated to the United States in 1978, eventually settling in Rowland Heights, California. He is a Chinese-American professional poker player who owned a Chinese restaurant in Denver before turning professional in 1996. He has won five WSOP bracelets, with victories including the 1996 $2,000 Limit Hold'em, the 1998 $3,000 Limit Hold'em, the 2000 $5,000 Seven-Card Stud, and the 2005 $5,000 Omaha Hi/Lo events. In 2008, he won the WPT World Championship for $3,400,000, defeating Gus Hansen heads-up. His total live tournament earnings exceed $8,000,000.
