Erik Seidel is an American professional poker player born on November 6, 1959, in New York City. He holds ten World Series of Poker bracelets, the most notable of which came after his runner-up finish at the 1988 WSOP Main Event — a final hand against Johnny Chan that was later featured in the 1998 film Rounders. He has accumulated more than $45,500,000 in total live tournament earnings per The Hendon Mob, placing him among the all-time leaders. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2010. He was formerly a professional backgammon player and a trader on the American Stock Exchange.
