Event #21 - $250 Double Board PLO Bomb Pot — Wrap Up

The Double Board Bomb Pot event delivered nonstop multiway action as the field swelled to 84 entries and pushed the prize pool to $12,600. With registration closed and the guarantee comfortably cleared, the night turned into a battle of nerve and board reading, as players were forced to make big decisions without the usual preflop roadmap.

When the dust settled, Jesus Carrillo emerged as the champion, outlasting a deep and lively lineup to claim the title and a $3,215 first place payout. Carrillo stayed composed through the variance heavy structure and consistently found the right lanes as pots ballooned across two boards.

Eric Crews finished runner up for $2,445 after a strong run that kept him in contention late, while Tucker Stone rounded out the podium in third for $2,210. It was a night defined by swingy pots and constant pressure, and Carrillo handled the format’s chaos best, converting the big field into a well earned win.

The win is the largest of Carrillo's career by a significant margin. Carrillo started playing tournament poker fairly recently and only had around a thousand dollars in tournament winnings before this event. Congratulations Jesus, we look forward to seeing at more final tables in the future.

We have reached the final table after busting the bubble at eleven players in the freezeout. Without re-entries the stacks are shorter and this one will likely finish before the Double Board Bomb Pot Event. Jonathon Park is having a great series and is still in the field fighting at the final table in this one.

Registration is now closed on the old-school freezeout event here at Texas Card House in Houston with the PokerAtlas Tour. Nice field for an event with no rebuys allowed. We're seeing a lot of the usual suspects, including previous event winners from this series, Joseph Cappuccio and Jeff Nowling.

Eleven players will make the money in this one, with just over six thousand for the winner.

Jeff Nowling took the big side of a three-way chop and goes home with this season's Atlas trophy in this unique Bounty Round Up format. Nowling had a piece of the bounties as well after he and second place finisher Dzhordzh Beshar agreed to a small deal between them on the final table bubble. The three-handed battle went on for quite some time before the deal was done, with Beshar as the chip leader for most of the final table, but one big hand gave Nowling the chip lead and the deal was done soon after.

Nowling is a serious tournament player from Houston, with nearly half a million dollars in tournament winnings. Most of his scores have been in Houston, Dallas, and Las Vegas. He also finished second in event #10 in this series, the only other bounty event, just three days ago. A true bounty hunter!
